Geotech Prices: Pore Water Extraction PDF Print E-mail

Pore water extraction may be performed aerobic or anaerobic, for a variety of analytes. The sediment is packed into centrifuge bottles, centrifuged, and the free water is decanted off. Additional steps include a second centrifugation or filtration step to clean up the pore water. As a rule of thumb, a 20% recovery rate is good, and the more sandy a sediment, the lower the recovery.  Sample amount should be two 32-oz WMG (Wide mouth glass) if possible.   Please call for a project specific quote.
